what i thought i wanted
Do you ever go to a restaurant and you really think you feel like a hamburger but then you see the specials and there is something different like carrot ginger soup and you are curious, so you order that, when you get it you eat it because you paid for it, but it isn't at all what you wanted.
I feel that way a bit about my life. Maybe I've never known what I wanted. But if you don't know what you want, don't rush into a decision. I made some decisions on what I thought I wanted. A house, this job, among other things, and now I get here and I'm eating it because I'm paying for it, but it isn't what I really want. Problem is I'm sitting at a table where everyone else knows what they want and I might just want some more time with the menu, or maybe I want to skip dinner and have dessert. This is the point in time where everyone tries to act like your mother and give you advice on your eating habits or act like your father and tell you to just make a decision already because everyone is hungry and you're holding up dinner. What if I don't want to get to the end of the meal and have to skip the only part I wanted because I'm too full or what I didn't want? just some food for thought...
