the little blessings.
I got to the bank this morning only to realize last nights eat and
run dinner at mcdonalds had put my account overdrawn by a buck
forty-five. in banking terms this means last nights 6 dollar meal
actually cost 41 dollars. 2 days from payday! Barbara one of my
coworkers suggested I just deposit some money, I explained I only get
money twice a month and today is not the day.
This year I am determined not to use my credit card, and the battle is a hard fought one. I had enough money to pay the extra fees and get lunch today. I could have gone home, but I knew I had no groceries there, my bread the all natural-no preservative bread was blue and fuzzy after a few days. If I go home, i never get my reading done or take the time to pray. So I went to subway, my daily routine, this is where I go to read and pray and seek God's face daily. I wasn't sure how I was going to eat the rest of the week or at least until payday.
I got home this evening and I could tell someone had been in the house, something was moved or different, ever since the break-in last year i can tell when someone has been in the house and i had an uneasy feeling after some recent neighborhood events. I thought it was the candlestick on the table, i was convinced it had been moved. I cautiously entered the kitchen and saw a smiley face on my keyboard on a sticky note--DAD!!
I thought it was just the smiley and that was enough, then I looked and saw my dryer was covered in cereal and pasta and bread and canned goods, I opened up the fridge and there was milk and orange juice, cheese, and ham, and ground beef, I opened the freezer and it was full of chicken and vegetables.
Im sitting here writing this and dad calls, Isabella has finally arrived 8lbs 8 ounces!
There is no doubt in my mind the verse I read last week that made such an impression on me...
Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is our light and protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will the Lord withhold from those who do what is right.
